Baggage

Baggage Allowance

Sundor does its utmost to provide you with ideal flight conditions throughout your journey, so that you can enjoy a safe and comfortable flight.
In addition to the free checked baggage allowance, you may take personal items as cabin baggage at no extra charge. These items must be placed in the overhead bins or under the seat in front of you.
The size, weight and handling of personal hand luggage in the passenger cabin all impact on your inflight comfort and safety. Therefore, size and weight limits have been established for every piece of hand luggage permitted on board the plane, according to the Class in which you are seated.
When storing space is limited, passengers may be asked to check-in their hand bag.

Baggage Allowance as of 20/3/2012

Details of baggage limits for storage in the hold of the plane:
The information below relates to all Sundor destinations on which baggage allowance will be offered in accordance with the travel route.

The sum of the 3 dimensions shall not exceed 158cm.

		Parents traveling with a baby are entitled to bring a fully collapsible stroller, an infant’s carry-seat or car seat, to be brought to the entrance to the plane. The baby carriage may be used up to the aircraft entrance door; it will then be sent down to the baggage hold. If you have a carry cot or safety seat, it will be tagged at check-in and sent directly to the hold. If a passenger flies without a baby but brings an infant seat or carrier, the equipment will be counted as part of the passenger's baggage allowance. For more information: Flying with Infants.

Hand Luggage Guidelines:

For your convenience, please read the following guidelines:

Permitted Size for Carry-on Cases

55 (length) 40 (width) 20 (depth) cm

Permitted Weight for Carry-on Cases
Economy Class	You are entitled to one piece of hand luggage weighing up to 6 kg (12pounds).
Business Class/ Platinum Class	You are entitled to two pieces of hand luggage weighing a total of 20 kg (44 pounds) – one piece of hand luggage weighing up to 16 kg (35 pounds) and another weighing up to 4 kg for a portable computer or attaché case

Extra Hand luggage - payment of 70$ will be charged and the Hand luggage will be sent to the belly of the plane.

Matmid Club members do not apply on IZ/6H flights.

Permitted Exception:

· For passengers with hand luggage exceeding the permitted size or weight, such as:
A cello – Passengers wishing to fly with the oversize object in the aircraft cabin will be required to purchase an additional seat.
* Sundor is not obliged to transport oversize baggage in the passenger cabin without advance authorization.
When storing space is limited, passengers may be asked to check-in their hand bag.

Guidelines Regarding Hand Luggage on Flights Departing the European Union

On all flights departing from or passing through the states of the European Union, in addition, from Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and England it is permissible to include in the hand luggage liquids, ointments, gels and aerosols (including fluid cosmetic products such as liquid lipsticks, creams, toothpastes, shaving cream, etc.).

The following conditions apply:

· The contents of each item should not exceed 100 ml.

· All items must be compactly packed into a transparent re-sealable plastic bag.

· The total contents in the bag should not exceed 1 liter in volume.

· Every passenger is entitled to carry only one such bag in his/her hand luggage.

· Medications and special food (such as baby food) that must be used during the flight may be taken on board without packing them in a plastic bag. These items must be presented separately at the security check.

· Duty free items that do not conform to these conditions (such as bottles of alcoholic beverages) may not be taken on board the plane.

It is permissible to carry on to the plane duty free items that were purchased at the airports of countries that are in the European Union. These products must be in a sealed bag and passengers must present a properly dated receipt from the place where it was purchased.

Products that do not meet the requirements as well as products purchased at duty free shops of airports not in the European Union will be confiscated.Please note that only the aforementioned products must be stored in a plastic bag. All other items that passengers wish to take with them can be packed into hand luggage in the usual manner.

The bag may be placed in the hand luggage and taken out at the security check at airports in Europe.

Sports Baggage

Sports equipment including golf, ski, water ski

For Economy Class Passengers

A ski unit is considered one piece of baggage (weighing up to 20 kilos) and can be carried as part of the baggage allowance.

Passengers with one suitcase and ski equipment – the ski equipment (up to 20 kilos) will be considered additional baggage for which the usual fee of $70 for one way will be charged.

Passengers flying with 3 pieces of baggage (including ski equipment, weighing up to 20 kilos each) will be charged $70 for the first piece of baggage and $210 for one way for the second piece of baggage.

For Business Class Passengers

For passengers flying with 1 suitcase and ski equipment, the ski equipment (up to 32 kilos) will be considered a second piece of luggage, at no charge.

For passengers flying with 2 suitcases and ski equipment, the ski equipment (up to 32 kilos) will be considered an additional piece of luggage and will entail the usual fee of $210 for one way.

Sports Equipment such as diving equipment, kayak surfing, canoe and paragliding

Passengers traveling with sports equipment to/from Europe will be charged $70 in each direction for equipment

weighing between 16 and 32 kilos and/or

measuring 141 – 200 cm.

Sports equipment weighing 33 – 50 kilos and/or measuring 201 – 277 cm will be charged $210 in each direction, to all destinations.

Regarding larger sports equipment or other equipment, please contact EL AL Cargo in advance.

Bicycles

General

One single-seater (or double-seater) pedal (not motorized) bicycle is permitted.

The handlebar,1 wheel and the pedals must be dismantled. The bicycle must be wrapped! Let the air out of the tires.

Notes:

· Maximum weight of each piece of baggage – 32 kilos.

· Passengers flying with baggage whose dimensions exceed 158cm – 277cm will be charged an additional fee of $100 (in all Classes).

· A fee of $170 will be charged for each piece of baggage that exceeds the size allowance (up to 277cm) and the weight allowance (up to 32 kilos).

· All the above information refers to Sundor destinations and other carriers flights.

· Prices are for one way.
